How is it October this week!?
Things are going amazingly well in all classes. The only issue right now are those of you who owe assignments. I was in touch with students last week about missing work so make sure you catch up…because the first progress report is NEXT WEEK (already!).
ENG3U students will continue getting into the Frankenstein unit this week. Make sure you are reading the novel as you will be quizzed on the content!
BTA3O students will continue their unit on computer hardware. Most people seemed pretty interested in tinkering around with computer guts. We’ll do a project this week on disassembling and reassembling computer parts. In the meantime, you can check this stuff out: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/ – if you scroll about halfway down there are some videos in the “What’s Inside” section. We are also going to start our “redo the GCHS website” project this week.
ENG2D students will get introduced to and begin studying To Kill a Mockingbird, which is one of my favourites to teach. Make sure you are reading the novel and don’t forget about the plethora of resources online to help make sense of the novel if you’re having trouble.
Check out the student blogs, which have been added!
One last thing: I’m away at (another) a conference on Thursday and Friday. I will be in touch through Twitter and email, though!
