It’s been so busy that I haven’t been able to provide updates here. My apologies! There has been lots of stuff going on in class in the last few weeks. We’re down to just 2.5 weeks until the Christmas Break. We can make it!
Here’s what’s going on in class:
ENG3U Grade 11 English students are wrapping up “Macbeth” literary essays. Final copies are due on Monday, December 8. Late essays will be deducted 10% per day so strive to be on time! Students are also studying Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. So far, we’ve been doing independent annotated reading, (taking notes to build understanding), but we’ll move to more enlightening stuff soon!
ALC1O Grade 9 Art students completed their introductory projects and have been spending time learning how to draw in perspective – both one point and two point. Students spent a few days developing skills and are now completing a series of tasks that lead up to the culminating project for the unit. Students are using drawing skills, measurement, and problem-solving to complete these tasks and almost everyone has it all figured out. Students who are missing work or haven’t completed old assignments are invited to come in during the Activity Period to make up work.
ENG2P Grade 10 English students have finished studying The Lord of the Flies. Several students did not complete multiple unit assignments and this has effected some marks. Students have also been working on developing essay skills. The rough copy is due on Monday, December 8. In the meantime, the class has begun studying Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” and so far, this has proven to be challenging. We’ll see where it goes!
Here’s hoping everyone has a great week!
