It’s a new semester! I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all students to my classes. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all more and helping you find success. Here’s to a great semester. If you’re new to WilsonTeacher.ca you can find information for your course by heading to the Courses menu at the top of the page and selecting the appropriate class. I also encourage students and parents/guardians to contact me if there are questions, issues, or comments. Contact information is also found on the top menu.
EWC4U-e Grade 12 Writer’s Craft Students: Communication and assignments will be done through the Superior-Greenstone District School Board eLearning Environment. If you are a student in my Writer’s Craft class, head there for details.
ENG3U – Grade 11 English Students: We will begin this course by reviewing, researching, and writing essays. Remember MLA? Do you know APA? What’s a great thesis look like? How do you properly reference information? We’ll cover all of those questions and more in our first unit. A few organizational items for our group:
- You can join the ENG3U Remind service by clicking here and following instructions.
- Begin reading Frankenstein so that you are able to fully participate in our first novel study. The first few chapters may be tough, but persevere!
- You are responsible for registering to TurnItIn.com, a plagiarism detection tool. You will require the following information: Class ID: 14644403 Password: wilsoneng3u
In addition, I would appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete an Introductory Survey for the class. Help me make the course work best for you!
ICS2O – Grade 10 Computer Science Students: Many of you saw some of the work that was done in the first semester ICS2O class. We’ll begin by introducing the goals of the course and then jump right in to coding. If you’ve never coded/programmed before, fear not: you will learn! Even if you’re not totally comfortable around a computer, you’ll learn how to make it work for you.
Please take some time to complete the short Google Form – ICS2O Introduction Survey so I can get a better picture of the class.
Remember, the keys to success are to come every day, participate in the class, ask questions when you don’t know something, and ensure assignments are completed to the best of your abilities.
Happy Semester Two!
