It has been a very creative and very artistic couple of weeks in both NAC2O – Grade 10 Native Studies and ALC1O – Grade 9 Art. Students have been working hard and have created some beautiful pieces of art. There are only two weeks left before the Grade 9s will transition from art to drama. This also marks the middle of the semester, so parents, guardians, and students can expect midterm reports in the next few weeks.
In Native Studies, we have spent some time practicing beadwork. We were really lucky to have community members come in and share some knowledge with us, and the results have been amazing, (except for my piece, which is less than stellar…but I’m learning!)
In Grade 9 Art, we’ve been focusing on a variety of art media, including acrylic on canvas in the style of woodlands art as well as plaster castings with acrylics. Here’s a sampling of some final products from this class:
